How to ask questions on the internet.

Updated: Oct 20

Let's start with a simple hello!

As artists, we thrive on your appreciation and it means a lot when I see all your likes and comments on our social media profiles. But most of these comments tend to be direct questions with little to no regard for the art, the artist, or the effort behind it. Moreover, little thanks come after I answer the questions.

The story was just a little snippet of what I face every day wrt endless questions which don't carry any kindness in them.

"Nobody on social media owes you anything, regardless of their job or title."

So remember to be to do the following when you want to ask your questions.

  • Be kind

"What paints do you use?" Can be rephrased as "May I know what paints you use?"

  • Be thoughtful

A "thank you" after you receive an answer will be a really kind gesture.

  • Remember to honor others' Humanity

Google works really works well too :)

I realize it might not have conveyed the deeper feeling behind it completely, and left some of you confused hence thought I'd put this out there.

Always grateful for all your support. May we inculcate the habit of being kind, especially during these(COVID) times?
