My practice explores how memory, absence, and inherited structures leave their imprint — on the body, on material, and across time. Working across painting, installation, and video, I engage themes of identity, erasure, and invisible labor, with particular attention to how caste, gender, and diasporic experience shape visibility and belonging. Rooted in the cultural memory of Chennai, India and shaped by a broader South Asian diasporic condition, I build a visual language that is layered, fragmented, and slow to reveal — attentive to what is withheld, overlooked, or historically silenced.

 

The body recurs throughout my work — not as subject, but as surface, container, and evidence. Through repetition, erosion, and self-portraiture, I approach making as a form of listening. Each piece becomes a quiet encounter with power: an invitation to pause, reflect, and question. My aim is not to explain but to evoke — to ask how we inherit history, how absence speaks, and how the smallest marks can carry the weight of collective memory.
